Hey! I’m Alanna, an Ottawa-based yarn dyer and candle maker. I've lived in Ottawa for 14 years, and am so proud to be a part of the amazing fibre/maker community we have here!

I run Skein or Shine from my home dye/candle studio (aka my kitchen) where I love to create and play around with new colourway ideas and scent combinations! I have a huge soft spot for  speckles - most colourways don't feel complete until I throw some speckles on there!

 When I’m not busy dyeing yarn, pouring candles and everything else that goes into a small business, you'll most likely find me knitting, crafting, gaming, bingeing the latest Netflix series on the couch with my pets, reading (historical fiction, horror and mystery are my favourite genres) or listening to podcasts!
